Guwahati, Jan 12: WAMUL, the largest dairy cooperative in North-East India operating under the Purabi Dairy brand, has announced ambitious plans for the state’s dairy sector in 2024.
Speaking at a pre-Magh Bihu celebration in Guwahati, WAMUL Managing Director Satya Brata Bose highlighted the cooperative’s remarkable growth and its significant contribution to improving the livelihoods of thousands of dairy farmers in the region.
“The dairy cooperative has witnessed substantial growth over the years, significantly improving the livelihoods of thousands of dairy farmers in the state. It’s heartening to witness a growing community of dairy farmers benefiting greatly.from WAMUL’s interventions, with valuable support from NDDB and the government of Assam,” said WAMUL Managing Director SB Bose.
“This year, our goal is to welcome a record number of dairy farmers into the Purabi Jamily while introducing various products for our esteemed customers. This will contribute to building a robust and strong rural economy, as envisioned by Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma,” he added.
