Jagdish Chelani, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, West Garo Hills on Friday said that they wanted to asertain from an engineering point of view about why did the retaining wall of PA Sangma stadium collapsed on Friday. He said to check if there was any lapses in the construction or why did this happen, the chief engineer of state sports council of Meghalaya, BM Syiem and management in-charge from HSCL was called at the incident site to check the reason.

Jagdish Chelani said to prevent any further mishaps, the road will be cordoned off and public will be informed about the same. The renovation and re-construction of work will be taken up, and once the monsoon is over the other wall will be constructed.
