Tura, Sept 5: West Garo Hills marked the Teachers’ Day 2022 on Monday by awarding seven teachers from all across the district for their outstanding contributions in the field of education.
The Education Department organised a formal function to commemorate the day at the District Library in Tura, which was attened by Thomas A Sangma, MLA, as the chief guest and District Commissioner Swapnil Tembe as the guest of honour.
The programme saw school students giving soulful renditions of songs and a special performance was given by Tura Music School.
Unfortunately, the sound system of the district library was not up to the mark as no engineer was present to control the sound.
