Tura, Oct 9: The West Garo Hills Poultry Wholesalers Association has decided to formally register with the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, West Garo Hills to establish a regulated framework for the poultry-related business in the district.
While the association has been in existence for a significant period, various reasons have prevented its registration until now. However, in an unanimous decision, all members have agreed to proceed with the registration process.
The association, in collaboration with the Tura Municipal Board and the District Administration, seeks to regulate prices and ensure fair practices within the industry.
The West Garo Hills Poultry Wholesalers Association (WGHPWA) will be governed by a constitution that outlines its objectives, powers, functions, rules, and regulations. This constitution is designed to promote the welfare of the poultry industry in the region.
The elected office bearers of the association are:
President: Donbirth R Sangma
General Secretary: Raknang Sangma
Vice President: Nigam Marak
Organizing Secretary: Deepan G Momin
Joint Secretary: Ratna
Accountant: Sanju M Sangma
Treasurer: Promot Reshi
Advisors: Jesse Marak and Nerush Sangma.
