Jowai, Dec 20: The District Labour Office, West Jaiñtia Hills in collaboration with the All Jaiñtia Muster Roll Workers & Labour Union Jowai Unit and the Common Services Centre, WestJaiñtia Hills organised an awareness programme on E-Shram at the compound of the office of the Dorbar Chnong Tympang Iawmusiang Jowai.The Labour Inspector, B Toi, explained about the purpose and benefits of E-Shram for the labourers (unorganised workers) and why it is important to register oneself under E-Shram.
District Manager, CSC, West Jaiñtia Hills, M. Myrchiang, urged the labourers to register themselves at the different Common Services Centre (CSC) in the District which is free and they have to provide document proof liks Aadhar Card, Bank Passbook and phone number that was used during Aadhar Enrollment.
The Advisor of the All Jaiñtia Muster Roll Workers & Labour Union Jowai Unit, K.L.Pariat, informed that the Government of India had announced on Agust 2021 that all workers earning below Rs. 15,000 per month can register themselves under E-Shram.The benefits that can be availed is insurance of Rs. 1 lakh if injured during an accident resulting in permanent disability and Rs. 2 lakhs if one dies due to an accident.
