Who was Longjam Memchoubi?  Noted woman activist from Manipur dies

Imphal, Oct 02: Noted woman activist Longjam Memchoubi breathed her last on Monday at Shija Hospital in Langol.

She died due to multiple organ failure at the age of 84.

Who was Longjam Memchoubi? 

Longjam Memchoubi was the president of Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibee Apunba Manipur (PLMPAM).

She was the resident of Thangmeiband Polem Leikai.

She took part in the current crisis in Manipur.

Memchoubi has been part of PLMPAM since its formation in 1985.

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh also condoled the passing away of Longjam Memchoubi.

Taking to X, he wrote, “I am pained by the sudden demise of activist Smt. Longjam Memchoubi. Manipur has lost a leader who was at the forefront of many political and social movements. She also took part in voicing the current crisis and remained a true patriot until her last breath. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and followers. May her soul rest in peace.”
