Tezpur, July 07: A horrifying murder took place in Kathaljuli, a remote area on the Assam-Arunachal border under Chariduar police station in Sonitpur district, on Saturday.

A woman named Laodang Basumatary was brutally beaten with a sharp weapon and left naked on her bed by unidentified miscreants, who took advantage of the absence of anyone else at her residence during the night.

The incident has caused a stir in the entire area. The woman’s family members discovered her body in the morning and immediately informed the Chariduar police.

An investigation has been launched into the incident, and efforts are underway to apprehend the culprits. The murder weapon was found at the crime scene.
