“You Are No Less Than Anyone”: BTech Pani Puri Wali’s 40,000-Km solo ride for change reaches Assam

Must read

Guwahati, May 4: “You are no less than anyone. When I started, I saw that others had travelled India, but none combined it with such widespread awareness. World records are being set, but what matters most is your mindset, courage, and dreams. If you take the first step, India will stand behind you.”

These aren’t just words from a motivational poster—they’re the lived experience of 23-year-old Tapsi Upadhyay, better known as the ‘BTech Pani Puri Wali’. On a roaring bullet bike and a mission that defies stereotypes, Tapsi has now reached Guwahati, Assam, as part of her Sampoorna Bharat Yatra—a 40,000-kilometre solo motorcycle journey across India to champion women’s rights, environmental sustainability, and healthy living.

Launched from Meerut on March 9 under the banner of Mission Healthy Bharat (MHB), her year-long ride will span all 28 states and eight Union Territories, concluding in Delhi.

“This is the second initiative of Mission Healthy Bharat, where we promote the wellness of people, animals, and nature,” Tapsi shared in an exclusive conversation with Hub News. “This journey began on March 9 and has continued for over 50 days on my solo bike ride.”

So far, she has crisscrossed Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, and Sikkim. In Assam now, she’s heading deeper into Northeast India—through Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Tripura, and Manipur—where she’s already conducting awareness programs in schools, colleges, and even IITs and NITs.

But who is the ‘BTech Pani Puri Wali ’?

Tapsi earned this unique moniker after launching her food startup, BTech Pani Puri Wali, while still pursuing her engineering degree. The venture aimed to redefine hygiene and quality in the street food sector, particularly the beloved Indian snack, pani puri. By blending entrepreneurial innovation with a passion for clean food, she stood out in a male-dominated street food industry and quickly went viral on social media, becoming a symbol of youth empowerment and grassroots change.

Her innovative approach and fearless spirit went viral. Today, she’s taken that same drive from the food cart to the highway.

“I’m travelling 40,000 kilometres on a bullet bike, but I’m never alone,” she says. “People join, contribute, and help the movement grow.”

On her first-ever visit to Northeast India, Tapsi was deeply moved by the region’s beauty and grounded lifestyle:

“The people are humble, rooted, and very aware of sustainable practices. What we often discuss on global platforms like the UN—they’re already living here.”

As her wheels roll forward, so does her message: that courage, compassion, and conviction can take you farther than any map. And that a young woman with a pani puri cart and a bike can spark a nationwide movement—one kilometer at a time.
