Shillong, April 16: Several youths and aspiring police candidates approached the Secretary of the Meghalaya Police Central Recruitment Board (CRB) on Tuesday to demand an explanation regarding the corrigendum and to address concerns about the age limit.
Earlier that Tuesday morning, the youths had gathered in front of the Meghalaya Police Training School at Mawlai Mawroh, led by Banrilang Pyngrope. The protest also saw a few mothers who had come to support their children and seek clarification from the CRB.
Speaking to media personnel, Banrilang Pyngrope stated that none of the aspiring police candidates had received any clarification, and the CRB had directed them to approach the Personnel and AR department.
“We feel disheartened because the Secretary has stated that they are not the concerned department responsible for issuing or setting the corrigendum,” said Banrilang.
Many of the aspirants also expressed that the state government needs to carefully review and analyze the age limit issue since they have been preparing for the recruitment, and the government is to blame for the delayed recruitment process.
