Ampati, Nov 22: As part of the Pan India Rescue and Rehabilitation campaign targeting child and adolescent labour, the District Task Force on Child Labour carried out a successful rescue operation in various locations under the Zikzak Block of South West Garo Hills on Wednesday.
The operation, strategically carried out in various locations under Zikzak Block, South West Garo Hills, witnessed the Task Force’s unwavering commitment to combating child labour. During the operation, dedicated members of the Task Force intercepted instances of child labour, demonstrating the collective effort to ensure the well-being and future prospects of these young individuals, marking a crucial step towards eradicating this social menace.
The Pan India Rescue and Rehabilitation Campaign aim to address the pressing issue of child and adolescent labour across the nation. The Task Force’s intervention in Zikzak Block is a testament to the proactive measures taken at the local level to create a safer environment for vulnerable children.
The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR), mandated to oversee the implementation of key legislations including the Juvenile Justice Act 2015, Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act 2009, and the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012, has been actively involved in activities aimed at eliminating child and adolescent labour. This includes rescue operations, programs, research, and fact-finding studies.
