According to reports, the doctor had 'purchased' the girl who hails from the neighbouring state of Arunachal Pradesh in 2013 from a person and since then the girl is with the couple.
As part of the Pan India Rescue and Rehabilitation campaign targeting child and adolescent labour, the District Task Force on Child Labour carried out a successful rescue operation in various locations under the Zikzak Block of South West Garo Hills on Wednesday.
