Tura, Sept 17: West Garo Hills District Magistrate on Friday passed order under Section 144 CrPC which prohibited movement of people within 100 metres from the Indo-Bangladesh border from 6 pm to 6 am daily.

The district administration of West Garo Hills passed this order since there are movements of international gang and criminals and the presence of illegal smugglers smuggling cattle, contraband goods etc from India during the night.

Also, there are reports that terrorists are trying to sneak illegally into India from Bangladesh during the night hours.

Hence, the order will come into force with immediate effect and will be in force until further orders, the District Magistrate said.
