Shillong, Sep 3: Four inter-state drug traffickers, including a woman, were arrested on Friday night, and heroin worth Rs 6 crore was seized in the city.
The seizure was made at around 8.30 p.m. from Shillong’s Demthring area.
District police chief Sylvester Nongtnger said on Saturday that the anti-narcotic task force (ANTF) of East Khasi Hills district, in a day-long operation, nabbed the four interstate drug traffickers from Demthring and recovered a big haul of narcotic drugs.
He also said that 55 boxes of heroin weighing 638.5 gms, two mobile phones, 1 Maruti Suzuki Eeco bearing AS 14 AC 0984, an EPIC and an Aadhar card were also seized.
Also, a case under relevant sections of the law has been registered.
In yet another productive anti-drug drive, Ri-Bhoi Police recovered 29 gm of heroin and arrested one inter-state trafficker.
