Must read

Shillong, Sep 3: The All Meghalaya Primary School Teachers Association (AMPSTA) will be joining the All India Primary Teachers Federation (AIPTF) in the Bharat Yatra, which is scheduled to take place on September 4.

The procession is set to start from the Community Hall at Golf Links and culminate at the same place after going to different areas.

The teachers will be taking part in the Bharat Yatra as they are demanding restoration of the Statutory Old Pension Scheme, regularisation of the services of lower primary school teachers, payment of the fourth installment of 25 percent revised pay for deficit teachers, a regular monthly salary for the deficit school teachers, and quality education.

Teachers of all the government and deficit-funded lower primary schools have been requested to join the procession.

The association also said that mass casual leave should be taken by all of the teachers.
