TURA, Sept 5: A 50 year old man has been arrested for sexually abusing a mentally challenged woman in the Purakhasia region of West Garo Hills.

While the crime was committed in April of this year, it came to be known only this week.

A Self Help Group leader who is the president of the Bilcham Cluster Level Federation in Purakhasia went to the police station to report the crime and file an FIR.

She informed that the 27 year old mentally challenged woman was raped by the 50 year old sexual predator identified as Apen Ch Marak of Borobollonggre village in April and the crime was revealed only now.

Police have arrested the accused rapist on Monday itself.
