Aizawl, April 27: The Ophthalmological Society of Mizoram hosted the 8th Eastern India Zonal Ophthalmological Congress (EIZOC) 2024 at the Aizawl Club from April 26 to April 27. The inaugural session was graced by Dr. Renu Sharma (IAS), Chief Secretary of the Mizoram Government, who attended as the chief guest. The event saw participation from distinguished ophthalmologists from various states.
In her address, Chief Guest Dr. Renu Sharma commended Mizoram’s exceptional gathering of ophthalmologists and highlighted its importance. She encouraged the attendees to utilize this opportunity to advance their knowledge and skills in the field of ophthalmology. Dr. Sharma also noted that such prestigious gatherings greatly contribute to global medical advancements.
During the event, key figures from EIZOC, including Dr. Pranav Ranjan, President; Dr. Swaraj Bhattacharjee, Secretary; and Dr. Sabyasachi Patnayak, Chairman of the Scientific Committee, spoke. Additionally, from the Organizing Committee, Dr. K.L. Remsanga, Chairman, and Dr. Lalbiaktluangi, Secretary, also made remarks.
The congress is scheduled for two days. April 26 and 27 featured a series of seminars and presentations on various topics related to advancements in eye care.
