A step towards better community healthcare: GSU Khasi Hills Zone gets new ambulance

Shillong, Dec 15: With an aim to provide better emergency medical support to the community, Meghalaya Education Minister Rakkam A. Sangma officially handed over a newly sanctioned ambulance to the Garo Students’ Union (GSU), Khasi Hills Zone, on Saturday at the Garo Union School in Shillong.

Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma approved the initiative and sanctioned the ambulance under the Chief Minister’s Special Development Fund (CMSDF).

The Education Minister expressed that the ambulance would be a valuable asset for the local community, emphasizing its importance for the welfare of the people. He also thanked the Chief Minister for prioritizing the needs of the region.

Further, the minister acknowledged the GSU for its efforts in bringing community concerns to the forefront.

The event was also attended by Sengnam Marak, former MLA of Rongjeng, Pastor Jittu, and members of the GSU Khasi Hills Zone.
