Tura, July 17: Jagdish Chelani, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of West Garo Hills, Meghalaya on Monday met A’chik Conscious Holistically Integrated Krima (ACHIK) hunger strike protestors outside Secretariat.

DC also interacted with other supporters who were present at the site.

The ACHIK’s hunger strike was initiated by a group of activists demanding immediate retrospective implementation of the roster system and making Tura the winter capital of Meghalaya.

He also met ACHIK senior member Laben Ch Marak and Garo State Movement Committee co-chairman Balkarin Ch Marak, who are also undergoing the hunger strike in Tura.
