Imphal: The Manipur government has decided not to relax curfew in the morning in the Meitei dominated valley districts, including the capital Imphal and the Kuki tribe dominated areas, after a high-level security meeting was chaired last night by Chief Minister N. Biren Singh.

For the past couple of weeks, morning and daytime relaxation during curfew was allowed.

Following this, the women’s groups have called for a massive mother’s protest rally in Imphal, on Wednesday, and so the morning curfew has been relaxed, said police sources.

A 72-hour total shutdown of National Highway 2 entered its third day on Wednesday.
