Guwahati, Apr 1: The flights at Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport resumed this morning after Sunday’s storm that damaged portion of the airport.

Airport Protocol Officer from Meghalaya Bijoy C Das told Hub News that flights have resumed as per schedule from this morning.

A portion of the ceiling at the Guwahati airport had collapsed as sudden rain lashed across Northeast on Sunday. Operations were halted and six flights were diverted to Agartala and Kolkata yesterday.

A video had gone viral showing a group of passengers waiting outside the airport as a portion of the ceiling suddenly collapsed. No injuries were reported. Airport sources had said that the collapse was caused by an overflowing outlet pipe and heavy winds.
