Shillong, Nov 18: The Awakening India Movement (AIM) has announced a public demonstration on November 20 to oppose the Government’s restrictions on unvaccinated people.
Speaking to reporters, AIM chairman Banshai Marbaniang informed that the intention of the protest is not to go against the Covid vaccination drive but instead it has been organised to create awareness amongst members of the public to not succumb to restrictions enforced by the government on people who have not taken the vaccination.
Marbaniang further said that the public demonstration will be held worldwide and 16 Indian states will take part in this public demonstration.
“The pandemic has hit us hard but it hit harder on the people who is living from hand to mouth…with these Covid restrictions… its affected these people in their daily lives”. Marbaniang urges people both vaccinated and unvaccinated to come and be aware so they can be vigilant and not succumb to the unnecessary restrictions enforced by the Government.
It may be mentioned that on July 2021, the members of AIM led protest against forced COVID-19 vaccination and lockdown in Meghalaya.
