Baghmara, Nov 18: The month long Pan India awareness and outreach program ended in a colourful note recently. The entire District has been covered and various different programs are being organized by the District Legal services Authority of South Garo Hills as part of the ‘ Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’.
During the programme, awareness on NALSA, effective implementation of poverty alleviation schemes 2015 cum photo exhibition are also being held in the observation of Legal Awareness week which starts from 2nd October this year.
The Chief Judicial Magistrate Daniel S. Marbaniang chaired the program and discussed various schemes like Jawahar Gram Samridhi Yojana, National Family Benefits Scheme, National maternity benefit scheme, Annapurna, Integrated Rural Development Program and Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Jojana etc.
He also spoke about the significance of outreach program on the concept of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav – the achievement and success in terms of overall development for the past 75 years of India’s Independence.
Dr Regina Ch Marak, Project Director, DRDA, also spoke on the various schemes implemented by their department and asked the gathering to avail the available schemes and benefits.
Gasalynn Rani, District & Sessions Judge, and R.D.K Sangma, Judicial Magistrate First class, were among others who were present and spoke on the occasion.
In the concluding day of the two month long programme the District Legal services Authority South Garo Hills conducted a Children’s Day at Asim Chiring LP School.
