Guwahati, Mar 15: Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s planned visit to Assam has been postponed, which has sparked speculations about the Election Commission’s announcement of Lok Sabha poll dates.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed that Shah’s commitments in Delhi, including his meetings with the election commission, has led to the delay.
Home Minister, Amit Shah was scheduled to launch BJP’s Lok Sabha campaign in Hojai and inaugurate the Bardowa project in Nagaon district today.
The proposed inauguration of the Bardowa project has been postponed to June – July.
It can be mentioned that the Bardowa project aims to elevate Srimanta Sankardeva’s birthplace into a cultural and historical tourist hub.
