Nearly 3,000 dual voters from villages along the Assam-Meghalaya border in Assam's Kamrup district exercised their voting rights in today's Guwahati Lok Sabha poll.
The veteran politician and eight-time AGP MLA from Bongaigaon constituency Phani Bhusan Chowdhury, who has been contesting as a NDA candidate from Barpeta Lok Sabha constituency cast his vote at Birjhara Girls' High School in Bongaigaon on Tuesday.
Ahead of the third phase of Lok Sabha polls Bijuli Kalita Medhi who is BJP's candidate of Guwahati's Lok Sabha Seat is campaigning vigorously in Guwahati.
Polling officials and security personnel from various dispatch centres left for the respective polling station with EVM and polling materials on Thursday.
The voting so far has been peaceful across the State, and at 5 PM the overall turnout was 69.91 percent, with Shillong constituency registering 70.26 percent and Tura registering 69.31 percent voting.
