SHILLONG, APR 9: National People’s Party (NPP) candidate from Shillong seat and cabinet minister Ampareen Lyngdoh on Monday politely asked the supporters of the opposition Voice of the People Party (VPP) to leave her election campaign at Umsning, Ri Bhoi even as she slammed the VPP for being a political party without principles.
This came after the VPP supporters came to the election campaign of the NPP at Umsning and started shouting “Ha u Prah, Ha u Prah”, while Lyngdoh was addressing the meeting.
Responding from the podium, Lyngdoh politely asked the VPP supporters to leave the venue in order to avoid any untoward incidents.
“You, the supporters of Prah, please go home. You have got your chance to hold a meeting in this place today afternoon. Please leave and go home to avoid any untoward incidents,” she said.
The VPP supporters were seen trying to disrupt the NPP meeting by shouting the Prah slogans. This led to a minor clash among the supporters of the two parties.
“You, who are supporters of a party without principles, please leave and do whatever you please with your Prah,” Lyngdoh commanded from the podium as she was addressing her supporters.
