Shillong, Jan 26: Senior BJP leader and cabinet minister for Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department, Alexander Laloo Hek, has been conferred with the Dadasaheb Phalke award.
The award was handed over by Union Minister of State for social justice Ramdas Athawale at a ceremony held at the NDMC Auditorium, Jantar Mantar, New Delhi in the presence of several dignitaries.
Hek was awarded the best minister and social worker in recognition of his tireless service to the people of Meghalaya and for his contribution to the nation as a whole.
When contacted, Hek said, “The Dadasaheb Phalke award is an honour that leaves me touched and strengthens my resolve to work even harder for the benefit of my state and country.”
