Must read

Boko, Sept 2: An eight-year-old boy from the Assam–Meghalaya border has become an internet sensation for his unusual school commute—riding to class on horseback.

Yuwaraj Rava, a Class III student of Dakshin Pantan Tribal Middle English School in South Kamrup’s Chaygaon area, has been making the journey on horseback since last year. Hailing from Borbakra village, Yuwaraj’s daily ride came into the spotlight after videos of him navigating the hilly terrain on his horse went viral on social media.

The viral clips have drawn visitors to the school, eager to meet the young rider whose determination has touched many. Teachers praised Yuwaraj’s confidence and skill, while classmates admitted that his morning arrival always creates a buzz of excitement.

Explaining the reason behind the unusual commute, assistant teacher Hriday Deka said the boy’s family lives in a remote, hilly area without regular transport facilities. “For Yuwaraj, riding a horse is the only way to reach school on time. His dedication is an inspiration for others,” Deka noted.
