Assam Police seize 10,000 Yaba tablets, 12.5 kg of ganja; 4 held

Guwahati, July 5: In a major development, Assam Police on Wednesday seized a large quantity of contraband drugs worth over lakh of rupees.

In a two seperate operations, four 4 drug traffickers were also arrested in Karimganj.

Assam Police seized 10,000 Yaba tablets and 12.5 kg of ganja in two separate operations.

The arrested drug traffickers has been identified as Atikur Rahman, Nazrul Islam, Deepak Kumar and Sahil.

According to Police, the market value of the seized drugs is estimated at several lakhs of rupees.

Partha Sarathi Mahanta, DIG of STF while speaking to repoters said, that based on secret information the Kamrup district police launched an operation and recovered 700 grams of herion from a vehicle and arrested drug peddlers.

Yaba is a combination of methamphetamine and caffeine.
