SHILLONG, MAY 26: A 25-year-old man drowned while swimming without a life jacket at Mawsawa waterfall in East Khasi Hills District.

The deceased was identified as Hemangshu Deka from North Guwahati near the Indian Institute of Technology, originally hailing from Nagaon, Assam. Deka was visiting Mawsawa Falls with friends when the incident occurred.

The body was pulled out of the water with the help of locals who were present at the waterfall.

The body was shifted to Sohra CHC for necessary formalities.
