Shillong, Jan 23: Senior State BJP leader Pawan Sharma will soon meet BJP Minister Sanbor Shullai and would urge him to take up the issue with the Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma and Home Minister Lahkmen Rymbui regarding the repeated crime by unknown miscreants on non-tribal community in particular area.

The senior BJP leader said that a delegation of BJP leaders will meet BJP Minister Sanbor Shullai and discuss safety issue as recently the demolition of Goddess Kali idol also took place at the same constituency by unknown miscreants.

“Such repeated crime in the particular constituency clearly reflect there is political conspiracy behind such repeated attacks,” he said.

The BJP leader stated that such incidents should be condemned by everyone as such incidents of extreme intolerance will only spread hatred.

Terming the act as a handiwork of anti-social elements, BJP leader said that tighter security should be provided in the area as it is frequented by anti-social elements and also by drug addicts and alcoholics. The stakeholders including the police personnel should be actively involved in curbing such menace and advocated that CCTV should be installed in the area.

BJP leader further stated that he will request the state government to install CCTV in such vulnerable areas. “Shopkeepers including commercial residential apartment in the city should install CCTV in their respective compounds as this is the only way to curb such menace. Govt should impose compulsory CCTV in commercial areas including shops and also in commercial apartment. Financial aid should be provided or subsidized the CCTV so that such crime can be reduced in the city,” he said.

BJP leader said that he would also soon write to the DC and SP regarding installation of CCTV.

BJP leader also stated that the BJP will continue to condemn any such acts of discrimination.
