Tura, April 28: The 3rd P.A. Sangma Memorial Day & Night Cricket Tournament continued its exciting run on Monday at the Police Parade Ground in Tura. Day 7 concluded with several decisive matches that saw lower-performing teams being eliminated from the competition.

Notably, due to frequent rain interruptions, the fifth and sixth matches of the day were shortened to just 8 overs.

The fifth match of the day saw Don Bosco College Tura pitted against Phoenix 7. Batting first, Don Bosco College Tura set a target if 50 runs (scoring 49) before being bowled out in 6 overs. Phoenix 7 responded emphatically, chasing down the target in a mere 4.5 overs, winning the game by 5 wickets. Alok of Phoenix 7 was awarded player of the match for his performance, taking 3 wickets in 2 overs.

Sixth match featured Shallang Super Cops against Eleven Brothers. Shallang Super Cops batted first and set an impressive target of 135 runs (scoring 134) with a loss of just 3 wickets in the allotted 8 overs.

Eleven Brothers began their chase with strong intent but ultimately fell short, scoring only 71 runs and losing 4 wickets in their 8 overs. As a result, Shallang Super Cops secured a comfortable 63-run victory. Jitumani Kalita of Shallang Super Cops was named player of the match for his outstanding performance, scoring 83 runs off just 32 balls.

In the day’s other contests:
– Nine Falcons triumphed over Nabinpally Unity by 18 runs, with Gagan Sangma named player of the match.
– Guare secured a 30-run victory against Unknown 11, and William earned player of the match honors.
– Galaxy defeated Jengjal by 6 wickets, with Dansrang Marak receiving the player of the match award.
– SP XI A won by 39 runs against Ampati Police, and Silvia Eunice A Sangma was recognized as player of the match.
– ABZO XI emerged victorious over Hill View Club Jenggitchakgre by 34 runs, with Jitu taking the player of the match award.

– Cheram won by 12 runs against Aces Eleven, and Arjun was awarded player of the match.
