BJP Meghalaya slams My Home India founder for ‘anti-christian’ remarks

Must read

SHILLONG, FEB 24: The state BJP has written to My Home India founder Sunil Deodhar, criticising his recent comments targeting Christians and the Bible as “severe bias” and “contempt”.

In a letter, BJP state general secretary Wankitbok Pohshna said Deodhar’s remarks at an event in Meghalaya’s Pynursla, mocking Jesus Christ and calling him an outsider, had hurt the Christian community and violated principles of respect for all religions.

“Such comments have caused hurt not only to the Christian community of Meghalaya but also to those who uphold…Sarva Dharma Sambhavna and Sarva Dharma Sammanay,” he said.

Pohshna cited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s reverence for Jesus Christ and emphasis on inclusivity, saying Deodhar’s comments risked undermining national unity.

He urged Deodhar to retract his statement and issue a public apology to heal the hurt caused.
