GUWAHATI, March 2: Assam BJP president and Member of Parliament (MP) Dilip Saikia has reaffirmed that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is not just the world’s largest political entity but a nationalistic movement deeply committed to the “nation-first” philosophy. He asserted that the BJP’s essence, ideology, and spirit are rooted in public welfare, national development, and transformative governance.

In a statement on Sunday, Saikia emphasized that the BJP, in perfect synchronization with the government, is tirelessly working toward collective welfare and a stronger, self-reliant India. He described the party as more than a political organization—a people’s movement dedicated to India’s progress.

Highlighting the BJP’s collective leadership approach, Saikia stated, “Our party and government function as complementary forces, ensuring that welfare initiatives are universally accessible and inclusive. We do not see governance as separate from the people; we work as one unified force.”

He also took a swipe at opposition parties, accusing them of misrepresenting BJP’s governance model with false narratives. He dismissed these criticisms, stating, “Attempts to undermine our grassroots connection are futile. The BJP’s dedicated cadre remains undeterred by such conspiratorial rhetoric. In fact, these challenges only strengthen our resolve.”

Saikia acknowledged the value of ideological diversity in a democracy but warned against the opportunistic political alliances forming in Assam. He argued that these alliances lack vision and substance, labelling their leaders as mere “performers on a fictitious political platform.”

He accused opposition leaders of having failed to contribute to Assam’s socio-economic progress over the last decade and insisted that their attempts to create discord have had no impact on public sentiment.

Saikia spotlighted two recent landmark events—‘Jhumoir Binondini’ and ‘Advantage Assam 2.0’—as defining moments in Assam’s modern history. He described February 24, 25, and 26 as dates that heralded a “new era of economic and cultural resurgence.”

“Elevated Assam’s traditional Jhumur dance is to global recognition, showcasing the cultural richness of the tea tribe community,” he said.

“Advantage Assam 2.0 positioned Assam as a premier investment hub, attracting over ₹5 lakh crore in investment commitments, paving the way for unprecedented economic growth,” he also said.

Saikia credited these achievements to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s visionary leadership, stating, “The scale and impact of these initiatives—especially the signing of investment MoUs worth ₹5 lakh crore—underscore the unparalleled strategic foresight of our Chief Minister.”

On behalf of the BJP’s 64 lakh karyakartas, Saikia extended heartfelt congratulations to CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, praising his relentless dedication to shaping Assam’s future and driving transformative development.

He concluded by reaffirming the BJP’s commitment to preserving Assam’s cultural heritage while advancing its development agenda, vowing that no opposition conspiracy or political gimmick will hinder Assam’s path to progress.
