BSF Meghalaya personnel awarded with Police Medals for Meritorious Service

Shillong, Jan 27: On the occasion of 74th Republic Day, Dr. Jalaj Sinha, DIG (Medical) posted at FTR HQ BSF Meghalaya was conferred with Police Medal For Meritorious Service for his distinguished contribution in the Medical field and well-being of force personnel.

Dr. Jalaj Sinha served as the Nodal officer for BSF during the Covid pandemic at Force Headquarters, New Delhi and has done tremendous work to save the lives of the patients. During his 30-year long service, he served at various challenging locations like Ladakh, North East and even Kashmir during the time of peak militancy.

He also played a significant role in abating Malaria among BSF troops at Tripura.

In addition, Constable Dharamveer Singh of 172 Bn BSF Meghalaya was also honoured with Police Medal For Meritorious Service for his impeccable service with courage and bravery.

On this Republic Day, the President of India awarded 59 medals to BSF personnel, which include 07 Police Medal For Gallantry (PMG), 05 President’s Police Medal For Distinguished Service (PPMDS) and 47 Police Medal For Meritorious service.
