BSF organizes Civic Action and Medical Camp for border villagers in South Garo Hills

Baghmara, March 21: The 43rd Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) in Meghalaya organized a civic action programme and medical camp for the villagers of Phanda, South Garo Hills, under the Central Armed Police Forces (CAP) initiative.

The event was attended by Sh. L Roshan Kumar, 2IC, Officiating Commandant 43 Bn, and witnessed the distribution of essential items like football and volleyball kits, CGI sheets, water storage tanks, pipes, computers, desk, and benches to the surrounding border villagers and youths of South Garo Hills.

Additionally, a free medical camp was conducted in the village, attended by approximately 150 villagers. Dr Bhajan Lal, AC (CMO), Dr Rikrimshi R Marak, and Dr Shah Alam Hussain, PHC Rongra, provided free medical consultation and distributed medicines.

The village youths, both boys and girls, will also participate in a football tournament starting from March 22, 2023, which will see the participation of six teams.

The programme aimed to foster cohesiveness and strengthen the bond between BSF and the border population.
