Jowai, Oct 23: As part of the “Azaadi ka Amrut Mohotsav” The Office of the Executive Engineer PWD (Roads) Jowai Central Division, Jowai organised a “Maintenance Drive” on a PMGSY road that connects Mukhla Sohshrieh-Myrjai- Mupliang which is 9.966 Km long. On Oct 23.The National Rural Infrastructure Development Agency (NRIDA) under the Ministry of Rural Development along with the PWD (Roads) aims to organise the Maintenance Drive of the PMGSY roads in the state.During the campaign, the drive witnessed the participation of the people of Mukhla Sohshrieh, Myrjai and Mupliang villages in the presence of Manshanlang Tang (Executive Engineer), Happy Pakynteiñ (Asst. Executive Engineer), among others. The participants collected a large quantity of single-use plastic bags & other waste material during the drive.

They also sensitised the shopkeepers and vendors about the harmful effects of single-use plastic.
