Shillong, July 20: Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma on Thursday attended the inaugural function of the Diamond Jubilee Celebration of Teaching Science in Shillong College.
CM’s visit to the college comes days after it was accredited with A+ Grade by NAAC.
After the visit, CM tweeted, “Happy to attend the inaugural function of the Diamond Jubilee Celebration of Teaching Science in Shillong College.”
“Shillong College has emerged as one of the premiere institutions in our State and I must congratulate the founding members, teachers & staff for its recent accreditation of A+ Grade by NAAC. This is their commitment to education and the future of our children,” he said.
In the address, CM Conrad Sangma also called upon the student community to be active contributors in the progress of the state and use science, technology and innovation to make positive impact in our communities.
“I wish Shillong College many more accomplishments in the future,” he said.

Shillong College has been given the A+ accreditation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), said officials.
In an email to the Principal of Shillong College, the NAAC said, “Your institution has been accredited with a CGPA of 3.33 points at A+ Grade valid for a period of 5 years from 24-06-2023”.
With this latest NAAC ranking, Shillong college was ranked the highest grade among other colleges in Meghalaya assessed by the NAAC till date.
