Shillong, Dec 20: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma recently conducted an inspection of the construction site for the longest bridge spanning the Brahmaputra River, connecting Dhubri in Assam to Phulbari in Meghalaya.
The ongoing project is poised to shorten travel time between Phulbari and Dhubri significantly, offering a substantial economic boost to both states. Chief Minister Sangma expressed optimism for the timely completion of this transformative infrastructure, foreseeing its positive impact on regional connectivity and economic development.
Taking to X, CM wrote, “Inspected the ongoing construction of the longest bridge connecting Dhubri in Assam to Phulbari in Meghalaya over the mighty Brahmaputra river. This bridge will minimize traveling time from Phulbari to Dhubri and will be a huge economic boon bridging the two states. Look forward to seeing its completion.”
CM also tagged Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, JICA Media and G Kishan Reddy.
