Williamnagar, May 31: In view of the prevailing situation concerning Covid-19 in the state, East Garo Hills District Magistrate, Swapnil Tembe has issued an order under section 144 CrPC thereby extending closure of all schools, colleges, coaching institution and other educational institutions to remain closed in the entire district of East Garo Hills till 15 June 2021.
According to the order Night curfew will continue from 08:00 PM to 5 AM all over the district until withdrawn. Williamnagar main market and Rongjeng market shops are allowed till 2 PM but shops in other parts of the district are allowed till 5 PM. Home delivery of food and essential goods will be allowed till 5 PM. Operation of the weekly market is not allowed till further notice. Places of religious worship shall remain closed. Political, public, social and religious gatherings including conferences, meeting,s and training, entry of tourists from outside the state also are not permitted. Sports activities are restricted. Funerals are, however, permitted subject to a ceiling of 15 persons and with prior permission of the Deputy Commissioner. Weekend lockdown will be imposed from 08:00 PM of 4th June, 2021 till 05:00 AM of 7th June, 2021
The order also said that the night curfew from 08:00 PM to 5 AM will not applicable to security forces, medical team, all courier services and other emergency services including goods transport and inter state transport.
