Shillong, Dec 05: Concerned over the illegal toll levied by an unknown group against the transport of poultries to the state of Meghalaya, on Monday the Members of the Confederation of Ri Bhoi People (CORP) central body lodged the complaints against the erring groups to the authority of the Deputy Commissioner office, seeking immediate intervention and action.
Led by the President Bandar Ryntathiang and Working President Pateng Myrsing, the CORP met and submitted the complaint letter to the Additional Deputy Commissioner MB Tongper.
The meeting with the Additional Deputy Commissioner was also accompanied by the Poultry’s Traders and Suppliers of Ri Bhoi District who also thwart and raised their concern over the illegal entry toll for supplying of poultry to the state of Meghalaya.
As informed, the local suppliers has to pay the amount of 30 thousand rupees per vehicles to get the entry to Meghalaya which is levied illegally by unknown group in the name of the Association from the state Capital Shillong.
The social organisations, including CoRP and HITO, have demanded immediate action from the Deputy Commissioner to intervene in an inquiry against the illegal group that levied illegal entry fees for passing the poultry from Assam to Meghalaya.
