Aizawl, April 29: Three members of a family, including two women, lost their lives, and one was seriously injured after a massive rock fell on their moving car in Mizoram on Monday.
The tragic incident occurred in the Pukpui area along the Aizawl–Lengpui airport road when a large boulder, dislodged by prolonged heavy rain, rolled down a hillside and crushed the vehicle.
The deceased have been identified as Lalrinliana, his wife Lungtiawii, and their daughter Vanlalhruaii. The family’s vehicle was completely flattened in the impact, and rescue teams had to work for several hours to retrieve the bodies from the debris.
Lalrinliana’s son, Lallawmzuala, who was driving the car, survived the accident but sustained serious injuries. He has been admitted to a hospital for treatment.
