Shillong, Aug 29: The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Meghalaya, on Tuesday organized a run in honour of National Sports Day, celebrated annually on August 29.
The event was held to raise awareness about the significance of this day and was organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, Meghalaya.
The 67th battalion of CRPF hosted the run on Tuesday morning, with both male and female CRPF personnel participating enthusiastically.
National Sports Day, observed on August 29th each year, highlights the importance of sports for maintaining physical and mental well-being. India boasts numerous sports legends, such as the “Golden Girl” PT Usha, the “Master-Blaster” Sachin Tendulkar, and the Hockey Wizard Major Dhyan Chand. Rashtirya Khel Diwas (National Sports Day) was first recognized as an official celebratory day in 2012, aiming to honour sports and its impact on our lives.
