SHILLONG, APR 17:: Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar on Thursday attended the Shad Sukkara festival organised by Sein Raij Jalaphet and announced Rs 15 lakh in financial assistance to support development and cultural activities of the organisation.
The Dy CM said the grant reflects the government’s intent to protect indigenous traditions.
Also present at the programme was Synta Mary Shylla, MLA of Sutnga-Saipung constituency, who lauded the initiative and stressed the need to safeguard the identity and culture of the community.
In his address, Dhar emphasised the need to honour and preserve the rich culture of the Khasi people and promised continued support for such gatherings that unite the public and sustain traditions.
The programme witnessed participation from village leaders, members of Sein Raij, and local residents, making the celebration vibrant and successful in promoting unity and culture
