SHILLONG, JAN 16: The East Khasi Hills Police have arrested a suspect identified as Navin Sunar (43) in connection with a robbery incident that occurred at Upper Lachumiere on January 13.

According to East Khasi Hills SP Vivek Syiem, the suspect entered the house of Devi Basumatary (42 years) with the intention to rob her. When the victim confronted him, he attacked her with an iron rod, threatened to kill her, and fled with her sling bag containing her mobile phone and cash.

“The accused person was identified as Navin Sunar after collecting all material evidences,” Syiem said. The suspect was apprehended by the Special party of Pasteur BH led by I/C Pasteur B.H S.I Arki Warlang from Boucher Road on January 16.

A case has been registered against the accused under Laitumkhrah P.S C/No 05(01)2026 U/S 331(7)/304(2)/351(3)/127(2) BNS 2023.
