EXPLAINED: What is NHAI’s Rajmarg Yatra App? Know its features here

The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) launched a new app called ‘Rajmargyatra’ with the aim of improving the experience of users on highways and creating a ‘citizen-centric unified mobile application’.

Currently, the application is available in Hindi and English and can be downloaded from the iOS App Store and Google Play Store.

What is ‘Rajmargyatra’?

‘Rajmargyatra’ is said to be a user-friendly app that will help provide travellers with comprehensive information about India’s highways and also offer them an efficient grievance redressal mechanism, said a release from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.

Rajmarg Yatra app: All you need to know about its essential features

1. Highway Information: According to NHAI, the Rajmargyatra app will help the user get essential information for national highways. Also, the app will help the users get real-time weather conditions, details about toll plazas, petrol pumps, hospitals, hotels, and several other essential services, as well as timely traffic alerts.

2. FASTags: This app will also allow all its users to recharge their FASTags, avail monthly passes, and get other FASTag related services on a single platform.

3. Register Complaints: This app will also help the user to report highway-related issues, where they can attach geo-tagged pictures and videos of the situation. According to the government agency, the users will be able to register their complaints, which will be addressed in a time-bound manner, and there will also be system-generated escalations to higher authorities in case of delays in redressal. The app also comes with a facility where they can check the status of the complaints.

4. Safe driving features:  The Rajmargyatra app also comes with overspeeding notifications and a built-in voice assistant to encourage safe driving behaviour.

The release by NHAI read, “With these improvements, ‘Rajmargyatra’ aims to create a seamless, user-friendly experience for highway users, fostering a safer and more enjoyable journey on Indian National Highways.”
