Jowai, Oct 2: As part of the celebration of Gandhi Jayanti, the District Administration, in collaboration with the Jowai Municipal Board, Dorbar Chnong Tympang Iawmusiang, Jowai Traders Association, Market Committee CNI Market, Jowai Presbyterian Iawchyiap, and Seinraij Jowai, carried out a cleaning drive programme under Swachhata Hi Seva in the market areas and zones of Jowai town on October 2nd, 2023.

The residents of Iawmusiang, Moosalyngkat stakeholders, vendors, and shopkeepers participated in cleaning the market areas, including CNI Market, Seinraij Market, Jowai Presbyterian (Iaw chyiap) Market, and surrounding areas.

The cleaning drive was chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner Dahunlang V. Lyngdoh, MCS.

Earlier, a short programme was held where the Jowai Traders Association (JTA) felicitated the government officials SDO MeECL E. Pohshna, Traffic Incharge Rocky M Umlong, and Executive Officer Jowai Municipal S. Amse for their daily service and valuable contributions to the society. Certificates were also distributed to participants in the Swachhathi Hi Seva week, which started on September 15th and culminated today, organised by Jowai Municipal.

Different localities in Jowai Town also participated in the cleaning drive.
