Tura, Oct 15: High grade ganja estimated to be worth thousands of rupees has been confiscated in a village by police in South West Garo Hills district on Friday.

Ampati police informed that the recovery took place during a special operation against narcotics on Friday.

The police raid took place in the village of Belbari/Honrinpara and led to recovery of19.778 kgs of Ganja also known as Cannabis. The man who had possession of the ganja has been taken into custody by Ampati police which is continuing its the fight against sale, supply and consumption of narcotic substances.
