Tura, March 16: A unique programme to tap hidden talent and expose the staff of Community and Rural Development Blocks of Garo Hills to potential skills aimed at reaching their goal of excellence through their work was organised at Tura’s SMELC ETA hall for three days, this week.

The programme was organized by the state community and rural development department under the guidance of Principal Secretary P Sampath Kumar to equip government staff with critical, creative and strategic thinking so as to bring out the best ideas while discharging their government duties and schemes meant for the people.

Aptly called “Meghalaya Rising-BrainForce” programme, it had the participation of Assistant Programme Officers of numerous C&RD Blocks from different districts of Garo Hills under the supervision of C&RD Director Smt Sanme Marak.

What made this training programme to stand out from the rest was its suite of tools and techniques for Brain Capital Creation, with the aim of forging a powerful new path forward for the citizenry to become future-ready.

The programme was led by Dilip Mukerjea, an internationally renowned author and thought-leader who, during the three day event, offered a panoramic range of stunning high-clarity solutions relevant to today’s prevailing 21st century challenges.

“My aspiration is for Meghalaya to evolve towards becoming ‘The Learning Capital of India’ by advancing from standardisation to raising standards, via my acronym ‘LIFE’ ~ Leadership, Innovation, Fellowship, Entrepreneurship. This programme is crucially relevant to all levels, sectors, and domains of our society,” points out Mr Mukherjea.

Through the use of a range of creative approaches, participants had the chance to hold interactions, adapt agility and counter the challenges posed by the modern world.

A crucial component of the training was the targeting of problems through the use of the ‘CURED’ workforce, an acronym referring to Cross-Skilling, Up-Skilling, Re-Skilling Expert Skilling, and De-Skilling.

The idea behind ‘CURED’ workforce is to inspire and achieve transcendental transformations towards ensuring sustainable levels of excellence in Meghalaya’s domains of business, governance, and education.

The participants at the programme came across a range of skills comprising Critical Thinking, Creative Thinking, Strategic Thinking, Systems Thinking, and Design Thinking.
