Shillong, July 3: The state government has constituted a 10-member Anti-Ragging Committee for Shillong Medical College, with the Dean of the college serving as its Chairperson.
The committee has been tasked with ensuring a safe, ragging-free environment on campus and in hostels. Its responsibilities include enforcing anti-ragging rules, conducting awareness campaigns, acting on complaints, recommending disciplinary action, and submitting reports as required.

As per the official notification, the committee will meet at least once every semester or as needed. The Chairperson also holds the authority to assign additional duties beyond the listed mandate.
The formation of the committee underscores the government’s commitment to protecting students and upholding discipline within the institution.
