The report emphasised on the crucial role of regular health screenings, the report emphasized that screenings play an important role in identifying and mitigating risks associated with NCDs, particularly cardiac-related ailments. However, despite the importance of early detection and prevention, there remains a significant gap in widespread health check-ups.
Northeast India, which had emerged as the cancer capital of the country, according to the report, the estimated number of cancer cases in the region in 2020 was 50,317, with 27,503 cases among males and 22,814 among females.
